Bag TLC Guide
With the right care, your item can stick around for the long haul. Leather naturally ages, it may change in shade or texture but that just adds to its character. Here's how to help it thrive for years to come:
Protect
Shield your bag from humid environments, greasy items (like sunscreen and makeup), pens, perfume, and alcohol-based products. These can stain or weaken materials over time.
Wear
Avoid tanning your bag under direct sunlight or heating it like a croissant next to the radiator. If it gets wet, blot gently with a soft, dry cloth. Keep things light don’t overstuff and give it a rest every now and then. Bonus tip: a bag insert helps keep the inside tidy too.
Preserve
Routine touch-ups or professional restoration can do wonders. We suggest maintenance every 1–2 years depending on use. Curious about good restoration partners? Just ask us!
Store
When it’s not in use, gently stuff it with clean paper or bubble wrap to help keep its shape. Tuck it into its dust bag or original box, and if there’s a chain strap, place it inside with padding so it doesn’t mark the exterior.
Quick Tips
- Rotate bags in your collection to avoid overuse.
- Keep away from rain and damp. Moisture is not its friend.
- Air it out every now and then for freshness.
- Use tissue or clean paper to stuff it when not in use. Shape matters!
